shall not eat any part of an animal
that was taken while it was still alive. This command is an obvious prohibition against any kind of cruelty to animals. It prohibits the eating of "Rocky Mountain Oysters". It may also prohibit most (if not all) non-kosher meat unless that meat was slaughtered according to the manner prescribed by the Torah.
